Yr Ardd is a community garden in Pont-Tyweli, near Llandysul, in the Teifi Valley of West Wales. Established as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in 2021, it provides an accessible outdoor space where people can volunteer, learn new skills, grow food, connect with nature, and take part in community activities. Through gardening, events and workshops, Yr Ardd helps bring people together and supports wellbeing, sustainability and community life.

People come to Yr Ardd for many different reasons. Some enjoy gardening and growing food. Others come to meet people, learn new skills, volunteer, spend time outdoors, improve their wellbeing, or simply enjoy a peaceful space surrounded by nature. Everyone is welcome, and there is no expectation to do more than feels comfortable.

Yes! Volunteers are at the heart of Yr Ardd. Whether you can give an hour a week, or just pop by now and then, your time and support make a real difference.

You don’t have to be a keen gardener to get involved. There are lots of ways to lend a hand — planting and weeding, building and repairing, or simply making a cup of tea and chatting with visitors.

Yes. We have volunteers who are avid gardeners but still come to Yr Ardd as they also enjoy working with other people. It’s a great way to pass on your gardening knowledge.

Volunteer sessions are friendly and informal. There is always somebody to welcome new volunteers and explain what is happening. You can join in for as much or as little time as you like, and there is usually tea, coffee and plenty of conversation.

Arriving by car. It's a narrow road and we don't want to cause an obstruction. Our friends at Llandysul Paddlers have kindly offered their car park for visitors — it's just a short walk to the entrance on Morris Terrace.

You are welcome to visit Yr Ardd. Many visitors come to Yr Ardd when they feel the need for space and peace. It’s an opportunity to reconnect with nature, to see the seasons change, and to notice the small wonders growing in each corner.

Yr Ardd is open during daylight hours, and we ask that visitors treat it with care.

Yes. Children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult. Yr Ardd is a wonderful place for young people to explore nature, learn about growing food, and enjoy the outdoors.

Yes, you can bring your dogs. When we take our dogs along, we usually keep them on a lead until they make new dogi friends. We usually take our own poo bags when we visit Yr Ardd. There is a dog waste bin just outside the entrance on Morris Terrace.

Yes we have male and female compost toilets in the garden.

Much of what is grown at Yr Ardd is used in community activities, shared among volunteers, or simply left for visitors to enjoy. When nature is especially generous and we have a surplus, we usually place produce in Lôn Wesley, Llandysul, so that it can be shared with the wider community.

There are many ways to support Yr Ardd. You can volunteer, attend events, donate tools or materials, sponsor a project, make a financial contribution, or help spread the word about what we do. Please contact us for a chat, by email suzanne@yrardd.org.
