About Yr Ardd

Who We Are

Yr Ardd is based in Pont-Tyweli, Llandysul. We were founded to create a welcoming community garden that brings people together, supports wellbeing, and celebrates the natural environment. We operate for the benefit of our community and reinvest any surplus back into our projects. We were registered in February 2021 as a CIC after a number of years of community led networking and artistic activities which showed:

  • evidence of need for free and low-cost food as shown by the establishment of Llandysul Food Bank;
  • evidence from Llandysul’s Place Plan and Rural Futures;
  • evidence from the Story Studio 2018, Feedback Sessions 2019 & 2020:
  • evidence from the consultation done by members of Tysul Youth during the 2019 Christmas Fair;
  • evidence from a world cooking project by members of Ffynnon Youth Group in collaboration with CERED who naturally went on to evolve ideas for growing produce.

Our Mission

  • Opportunities to grow, harvest, and enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • A welcoming space to socialise, play, and help ease loneliness.
  • A variety of volunteering experiences to suit different interests and abilities.
  • Skills development that can boost employability and deepen knowledge of the natural environment.
  • A chance to use and celebrate the Welsh language, helping people connect with the land and with our shared roots.

What We Do

At Yr Ardd, we run regular volunteer sessions where people of all ages can get involved in gardening, planting, and maintaining our green space. We host community events, workshops, and activities that promote healthy living, sustainability, and creativity. Our projects also offer skills development opportunities that can improve employability and confidence.

Our People

Yr Ardd is run by a group of dedicated volunteer directors and supported by a team of local volunteers. Together, we bring skills and enthusiasm to make the garden a welcoming and thriving community space. Accountability & Trust

As a registered Community Interest Company, we are regulated by the CIC Regulator and committed to using all profits for community benefit. We prioritise safeguarding, equality, and environmental responsibility in everything we do. We are grateful for the support we receive from partners, funders, and local people who help us to grow.
